What will happen at FREAKON 2025? FREAKON will feature two streams of content (one big room for big rants, one chiller room for vibes based talks) covering topics as broad as:
- What the hell is going on with games industry recruitment
- A seance with the ghost of games journalism
- A defence of flat character arcs in narrative games
- A deep dive into 90s browser games
- HUMILIATION RITUAL themed microtalks
ALSO there will be:
- A chance to buy some more sick merch to adorn yourself during MIGW without having to pay shipping!
- A sustainable merch option - BYO Shirt to be screen printed with sicko Freakon designs by stillfallapparel!
- A playable musical mycelium! We can’t explain it, just come and touch it!!
- An interactive memorial for games media! Uh oh!
You should expect raw, honest talks from people with interesting experiences and perspectives to share in a strictly NO RECORDINGS environment. We'll announce all of our speakers soon. How much will tickets cost? NOTHING. However, capacity is limited due to annoying things like the law, physics, etc. so you must try to get a ticket if you plan on attending FREAKON. If you do miss out there's a chance we'll be able to fit you in on the day at the door, but no promises! Big dogs: We do not reserve tickets for VIPs - if you want a ticket, you gotta get one!
Will there be a limit on how many tickets I can get? YES. You will be able to reserve TWO TICKETS PER TRANSACTION to give everyone a fair chance at getting a space.
Will I be fed? In this economy? No!
We have our friends with the taco truck rocking up around lunch time, so you'll have the chance to support two of life's great joys - trucks and tacos.
Will there be another chance to get tickets if I miss out? NO PROMISES. If you want to come to FREAKON, your best shot is to get a ticket when they go live on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9.
